The Story
After more than a decade behind bars — from high-volume DC nightlife to intimate craft cocktail lounges to private events across the DMV — Tilman Gerald started Paid Time Off to offer something the staffing agency model can’t: a bartender who actually cares about your event.
The name says it all. When you hire PTO, your guests get to actually enjoy their time off. The bar is handled. The flow is managed. The drinks are good. You don’t have to think about it.
Tilman Gerald — Owner & Lead Bartender
Tilman brings 10+ years of professional bartending experience to every event he works. He’s managed bars, trained staff, designed cocktail menus, and executed service for events ranging from 20-person rowhouse parties to 300-person galas.
When you book Paid Time Off, Tilman personally manages your event from the initial consultation through the last call. No handoffs. No surprises. The same person you spoke with on the phone is the person behind your bar.

PTO carries the certifications and insurance coverage required by DC, Maryland, and Virginia venues. Documentation available on request for event coordinators and venue managers.
Service Area
Based in the DMV — serving Washington DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. No travel fee within the 25-mile core radius (DC, Arlington, Bethesda). Travel available to the greater DMV region and beyond for the right event.
